Ok I wrote this devlog 123 days ago. I was too ambitious and wanted to make a big update with art, creative process, video, oracles, safety note and more stuff but I guess small updates are nices too? It took me a long time to receive the print version of Tiny Tome and then, well, life happened.

One year ago, on December 23rd, I learned something that changed my life. Still a tough time today but we all go through this kind of event in our lives. Now is the time to release here on itchio the version people received in the Tiny Tome printed book!

Printed version!

Symbiosis was my submission to the Tiny Tome jam. Symbiosis has been selected to be part of the Tiny Tome book. I’m very excited to announce that the fundraising campaign for Tiny Tome –the book in which this game has been published– was a great success! Thanks to 1 497 backers, these 50 two-pages games by 50 authors in one book (A5 size) has been printed. There were a lot of articles and videos talking about it, that’s awesome to see people enjoying this project! And also enjoying the alpha version of my game!

You can now find on this itchio page the version who have been printed in the Tiny Tome book, with a slighty change (I removed the "timer" mention in the "Physically Connect" advanced rule). With alpha (jam) version still available as a "demo." You can also find in the downloads the printer-friendly version (see below the full screenshot). Thanks for your support and tips.

I'm always glad to see people talking about the Tiny Tome book. I didn't note everytime someone published an article on their blog, but you can get a nice overview here with some page-through: TheLudoNarrativeGivaca.wordpress.com/2022/03/27. I'm not on Tiktok but look at the TinyTome tag! TinStarGames spoke about some games in less than a minute @TinStarGames!

This game (both alpha and V1) is licensed under the Creative Comrades License Agreement (CCLA 0.3). Therefore you can use Symbiosis as a basis for your own games and texts and whatever. You can't do NFTs, blockchains stuff, cryptocurrency, bigotry and discrimination. You can't use it either if you're a corpo.

Still a one-page game but…

I may include additionnal content in a near future. Such as introduction note, creative process, safety note, oracles with potential dismemberments and breakdowns, weird art…

French version !?

Oh and don't mind the next devlog: it will be all in French because the translated version of this small game is ready to be published and I'll probably add it to this itchio page (as my other games – I find it better to get all different languages versions downloadable in the same place, what are your thoughts about this?) It will be released at the same time as a cool French bundle of indie games in a few days!
